William R. (Bill) Martin 78 of Lafayette passed away quietly at his home at 2:45 am Saturday April 17,2021 surrounded by his family. He was born in Lafayette on October 30,1942 to the late Russell and Thelma L. Fry Martin. His marriage was October 14,1961 in Lafayette to Jerry L. Wann and she survives.
Bill retired from Purdue University Grounds Department, and also was a Truck driver for 25 years. He loved restoring old cars and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving with his beloved wife are two sons Jeff (April) Martin of Lafayette and Troy (Sara) Martin of Noblesville, grandchildren Cassie Jenkins, Sierra Martin, Cole Martin, Makara Martin, Madisyn Martin, Kali Martin, and Kori Martin. He was preceded in death by one brother Don Martin.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on April 26th at Grace United Methodist Church located at 615 N. 22nd Street Lafayette In 47904. from 5:00 to 6:30pm with a short service immediately following.
