Jeffrey M. Anderson, 46, of West Lafayette, IN, passed away on March 9, 2023. Jeffrey was born to Michael T. and Lynn A. (Fields) Anderson on August 19, 1976, at Carswell AFB, in Fort Worth, Texas. Jeff graduated from Harrison High School, WL in 1993, was accepted into the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 1994, to study classical guitar and graduated from Purdue University in 2003. Jeff was a guitar instructor for the Applied Music Studies program at Purdue University for 18 years and taught guitar to countless children as well as adults at McGuire Music and privately for 30 years. Jeff sang and played guitar locally at the Blue Fin and The Ichiban Patio, but called The Sportsman Inn of Monticello his home. Jeff’s favorite audiences were the residents of nearly every assisted living facility in Tippecanoe County. He was also a certified scuba diver. Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Lynn, brother Jeremy (Jessica) of Newport, WA, bonus Dad, Bob Inman, cuz/bro, Jonathan Fields, six nieces and one nephew, two godchildren, Uncle Mike Fields (Janet), Uncle John Fields, Aunt Cyndy Shafer, Uncle Philip Anderson and Aunt Patsy Niswonger, as well as 12 other cousins. Jeff is also survived by several brothers and sisters of music and friendship. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, Michael, grandparents, Bob and Ann Fields and Tom and Alpha Anderson, Uncle Dave Fields and cousin, Patrick Anderson. Also Charlie and Charlotte. A private family service will be held at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with Dr. Will Miller, speaking, and a Celebration of Life for all his friends will be scheduled for a later date. We know the death of this brilliant musician and friend is an enormous loss to everyone who loved Jeff. He made such a joyful noise, his gift for us to keep forever. Contributions may be made to any music program in the greater Lafayette area, Greater Lafayette Civic Theater and Food Finders Food Bank.
