Hello. My name is David Alan Brown and tonight my wife and I were watching a program on tv about Memorial Day and we thought of my mother’s brother who had died in the war named Bill (William). My mother, Lois Lou Sorenson Brown , had traveled to Normandy and then to the Netherlands to see her brother, Bill’s, grave.
We never realized that Bill had been married and had a child., who we now believe to be Joan after reading the information provided on William in the listing of those killed during the war.
We think this means that I may be first cousins with the children of Joan. In all my years of hearing stories, I had never heard of Joan nor her children before.
I understand that this is a very difficult time for your family, and am so sorry to read of your loss.
If at some time a little further down the road you wish to connect with me and see if we are in fact cousins, I could be contacted by email at mukluk83@comcast.net.

My wife and I live in California and we can tell you that there are several other Sorenson family members here. William had many siblings: Lenore, Lois, Robert, Don and Dick. Some of the children of these siblings live nearby or are known to us.
If you choose not to, that is fine. We are just amazed to find out that you exist!
Best to you and deepest condolences to the family.
