Helen Marguerite Scaletta, 94, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2021. Helen was born on April 13, 1927 in Sioux City, IA, to Ralph Beedle and Ruth (Coyle) Beedle. After completing her education, she later met and married Phillip J. Scaletta, and they had been happily married for 67 years prior to his passing on April 24, 2014. Following her education, Helen enjoyed raising her family and assisting her husband in his business and typed many of the books he published over the years. Helen was an avid golfer, with memberships at the Lafayette Country Club as well as the Purdue Women’s Club. She also volunteered at the Easternseals Rehabilitation Center, was involved with the sororities at Purdue was a proud Boilermaker fan. She was loved by many friends and family, and always welcomed others into her home with a smile and an offering for a coffee or meal.
Helen is survived by her son, Phillip (Lynn) Scaletta of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Cheryl (Darrel) Kesler of Seymour, IL ; grandchildren, Phillip T. (Lizz) Scaletta, Anthony L. (Linda) Scaletta, Alexander D. (Alice) Scaletta, Darrel P. (Kristen) Kesler, and Cheralyn (Brian) Parrott; as well as 11 great-grandchildren and many friends, whom she all loved very much.She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip J. Scaletta; and her two brothers.
Private interment will follow at a later date at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, in West Lafayette, IN.
