Mavis E. (Busey) Bell died peacefully on September 7, 2023, surrounded by her
husband and family. She is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her
mother, who passed when Mavis was only four days old. Born on February 23,
1930, in Fowler, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Clarice
(Moss) Busey. Her father took his tiny new baby and daughter Maureen to live
with his sister Alta Atkinson, her husband Ray, and their children, Genevie (Hare),
Neal Atkinson, and Virginia (Shepherd). Mavis graduated in 1948 from Gilboa
High School in Remington, Indiana, she’s the last one of her class of 14. She is
survived by her loving husband Howard who she married on March 25, 1950, they
have a son Lt. Col. Dana Bell (spouse Judy) of Branson, MO. A daughter, LeeAnn
Wiesler Jones (spouse Stuart) of Lafayette, and a son Brad, with whom she and
Howard resided. She has five grandchildren, Chad Wiesler, Amber King (Jeremy
Chaffee), Emily Moore (Cortney), Dax Bell (Nikki), and Sean Bell (Jacqui).
She’s also survived by 14 great grandchildren: Morgan Peabody (Ethan), Macy
King, Davis King, Brooke Chaffee, Austin Wiesler, Blake Wiesler, Madison
Moore, Mercedes Bell, Trinity Bell, Kiera Bell, Khloe Bell, Logan Bell, and Skye
Bell. Along with her first great-great grandchild Tucker Peabody. Preceding her in
death with her parents are her sister Maureen, cousin sister’s, Genevie and
Virginia. Mavis was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She could play many
musical instruments, even though she didn’t read music. She lived each and every
day loving Jesus and living a life for Jesus. She was a wonderful role model to
many, living a beautiful life of faith and having a marriage of 73 and a half years.

Her and Howard are charter members of Brady Lane Church of which monetary
donations can be made, in her honor, to Brady Lane Church Vision Fund.
Visitation: Sunday September 10 th 2pm to 3pm. Service will be at 3pm at Brady
Lane Church. Private Burial on Monday.
