Marilyn Francis Bogan, Lafayette-Marilyn Francis Bogan, 88, went to be with God and her family on Monday, January 18, 2021, passing away at her home in Lafayette. She was born in Lafayette on July 29th 1932, the oldest of three children, to the late Mary (Ryan) and Leonard Eckman. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, her son David and her sister Anita.

Marilyn graduated from St Francis High School for girls in Lafayette. Not long after she met, was courted by, fell in love with, and in 1954 married Donald L Bogan of Monitor. Together they had two children, David (Bogie) Bogan (deceased) and Donna Anderson (husband Larry), six grandchildren, Jennifer Bogan, Daniel Bogan (wife Jamie) and Marianne Bogan, (all of Lafayette), Jeremy Stockdale (wife Andrea), Nathan Anderson (wife Casey) (all of West Lafayette) and Ashleigh Anderson (Henryville, IN). Marilyn was also blessed with ten great grandchildren ranging in ages from one to twenty-five years of age all of whom she loved with all of her heart. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Eckman, and his children Monica and Michelle.

She retired from Alcoa after 36 years of working in administration and she was part owner of Budge’s Drive-In for more than twenty years. She was always excited to spend a few hours at the boats or a few days in Vegas. She loved to travel and was able to make several adventuresome vacations over the years. But more than anything Marilyn loved God. Though at different times in her life she attended St. Lawrence and St. Boniface she was devout member of St Ann’s Catholic Church where she was an active participant in many of its organizations.
The family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to those special friends that helped her in the later years of her life. They are indeed special.
