Lois Ann Johns

Lois Ann Johns, 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at her residence on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Lois was born in Chalmers, Indiana on July 29, 1941 to Raymond and Clara (Bailey) Kochell. Lois graduated from Chalmers High School in 1961. She was employed at many companies and organizations before retiring: American Inn, Village Pantry and Purdue University. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her favorite television programs: Dr. Phil, The View, CNN, Western Movies and her favorite actor: Steve McQueen. She was also an avid Kohl’s shopper. She will be greatly missed as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend.
Lois is survived by her daughter: Jill McKinney of Evansville, Indiana, son Heath (Sheila) Johns of Indianapolis, Indiana and Audra (Paul) Houchens also of Indianapolis, Indiana. Sisters; Mary (Louis) Sexton of Evansville, Indiana and Jane Kochell of Scottsdale, Arizona. Grandchildren: Priscilla (Robert) Quinn of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joshua Kilgore of Evansville, Indiana, Acea Johns of Texas, Allie Leonard of Lubbock, Texas, Shawn Merritt of Kokomo, Indiana, Cody Large of Frankfort, Indiana, Kryssi Large of Indianapolis, Indiana, Great Grandchildren: David Leeks of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joshua Jones of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jonathan Kilgore of Kokomo, Indiana, Connor Kilgore of Kokomo, Indiana and Gabriel Kilgore also of Kokomo, Indiana Lena George of Lebanon, Indiana, Kristina George of Lebanon, Indiana, James George of Frankfort, Indiana, Kaden Large of Frankfort, Indiana, Holden Foxworthy of Lubbock, Texas, Grayson Leonard of Lubbock, Texas, Adriana Large of Indianapolis, Indiana and Lorelei Large of Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Raymond Johns, mother-in-law Louise Johns, Joseph McKinney and nephew Kevin Kochell.
A gathering of family and friends for Lois is scheduled for Wednesday, December 20 th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Tippecanoe Funeral &Cremation Services, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, Indiana 47906. Funeral services will be held immediately following her gathering beginning at 11:00 AM with her place of rest at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1718 W. 350 North, West Lafayette, Indiana 47906
