Larry Lee Eifler, 74 formerly of Newburgh Indiana, passed away March 2, 2022, at University Place Healthcare in West Lafayette, Indiana. Larry was born October 29, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana to Oliver and Marie (Patmore) Eifler. Growing up in Chandler, Indiana, Larry attended Chandler Elementary School and graduated from Castle High School in 1965. Larry attended University of Evansville where he earned his Bachelors of Music Education majoring in Clarinet, followed by earning his Masters of Music from Indiana State University. Larry began his Instrumental Music teaching career in 1969 with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and remained with EVSC until his retirement in 2006. He taught the students of Bosse and F.J. Reitz High Schools, McGary Middle School, and many of the elementary schools in the corporation. In addition to educating students Larry served as part time Instrumental Music Supervisor for EVSC. Larry was a 56 year member of the Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Chandler, Indiana where he was an Elder and participated in many functions of the church. He was a ten year member of the Thorney Grove 4-H club in Warrick County, Indiana. Larry was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Phi Beta Mu Bandmasters, Indiana Music Educators, Indiana State Music Association, and Reed Masonic Lodge. Larry enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, his dogs, and vacations to Canada and Alaska. Larry was preceded in death by grandparents, parents, and infant brother. Larry was a devoted family man, forever friend, outstanding teacher, and the very best Grandpa. He is survived by his wife Pam of fifty-two years, son Jonathan (Solange), brother Mark (Rhonda), granddaughters, Gabriela and Paola Eifler; nieces Jayce (Justin) Manning and children Ava and James; Krista (Jonathan) Hogan and children, Asher and Turner; many special cousins and their families. A memorial service will take place at a later date at the Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Chandler, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 338 So. State St. Chandler, Indiana 47610. Tippecanoe Funeral & Cremation Services is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
