John Robert Jones

John Robert Jones, age 61, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Lafayette, Indiana. He was born in
Lafayette on June 8, 1962, to the late Robert W. Jones and Sandra A. (Vanderipe) Jones. John was a
1980 graduate of Central Catholic High School, and he attended Purdue University. On May 4, 1984, he
married Jackie (Bradley) Jones, who preceded John in death (August 18, 2021). He was a printing
salesman for many years. John enjoyed woodworking, photography, baseball, and attending his
grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Every year, John looked
forward to his family trips to Sanibel Island, where he loved spending time with his friends and family.
John is survived by his daughters Jessica Gick (Bart Hunsicker), Jenna (Brian) Karle, Julia (Ben) Wiley, and
Josie Jones (Daniel Allen); and by his grandchildren Cooper Gick, Cord Gick, Parker Gick, McCoy
Hunsicker, Mae Hunsicker, James Karle, Charlotte Karle, Rhett Wiley, Trey Wiley, and Juniper Allen—all
of Lafayette. He is also survived by his brother Thomas (Kelly) Jones; sister Karen (Scott) Jenkinson both
of Lafayette; and step-mother Janet (Taylor) Jones of West Lafayette.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the funeral chapel at
Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette. Funeral Service and Burial will immediately follow.
