Carolyn Miller, 82, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away at her home, Friday, September 8th, 2023. Carolyn was born at Home Hospital in Lafayette, IN, on July 16th, 1941, to the late Murrell and Violet German Shaffer (Bower.) She graduated from Otterbein High School in 1959. After graduating, she worked at National Sales for about 10 years. She then landed the job at Schwab Safe Corp., Where she retired after 50+ years, as the Controller of the accounting department.

Carolyn had many joys in life. She enjoyed bowling. She bowled for many years in City, State and National tournaments. Her other passion was being an Elvis Presley fan. She enjoyed vacations with family, watching westerns, Elvis movies and watching WWE wrestling on tv, and was a wonderful cook.

Carolyn is survived by her three daughters; Kimberly Oliver of Battle Ground, IN, Loretta Smith of Battle Ground, IN, and Cindy (Paul) Miller of Lafayette, IN, multiple grandchildren, several great grandchildren and her grand doggers.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; Murrell and Violet German Shaffer (Bower), daughter, Sherry Jones, grandson PJ McHaney, sister Betty Rosenberger, brother Glen German, son-in-law Kerry Smith, nephew Mike Rosenberger, niece Debbie Reagin and great nephew Preston German.

A gathering of friends for Carolyn is scheduled for Saturday, September 30th, 2023 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Tippecanoe Funeral and Cremation Services, 1817 W. 350 North, West Lafayette, Indiana 47906. A celebration of life memorial service will be immediately following the gathering beginning at 3:00pm at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carolyn’s name to the KLD Alzheimer’s Foundation, 401 Main St, Lafayette, Indiana 47901. Kldfoundation.org.
