Rox was kind, generous, welcoming, funny, tough, and feisty. She welcomed many of us into her home for music nights and treated us like family. She was probably my only fan for singing old Levon songs. Her words of encouragement always meant a lot to me. She was a good person and I miss being a regular part of the Wilkinson household, and I will forever remember Rox as a strong and kind soul.

Roxanne Wilkinson, 64, of Remington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, November 26, 2023.  She was born June 7,1959 in Muncie to Lloyd and Sarah Johnson Parker. She attended St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, IN.   Among many other things, Roxanne was a catastrophic claims adjuster, having worked disasters around the country.  She married Lou Wilkinson on May 19,1979 and he survives. Throughout her life she was always generous with her spirit and her time.  She was a Girl Scout troop leader for 14 years and was deeply involved with Special Olympics. She spent a month in Tanzania teaching English as a second language. She liked to say “You can have anything you want except my last piece of chocolate” but we all knew that if asked she’d willingly give that as well.

Surviving with her beloved husband of 44 years are her mother Sarah of Muncie, her daughter Joyce (Grant) Johnson of Vine Grove, KY, son Kyle (Torrie) Wilkinson of Peoria, IL, 3 adored grandchildren, two brothers Kent (Mary) Parker of Muncie, and Chris Parker of Port Charlotte, FL.  She was preceded in death by her father and her son, Nate.

Friends may call from 5 to 8pm Friday for a casual gathering in the funeral chapel at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette. The family requests in lieu of flowers, you donate your time and treasure to your local Special Olympics team.

Tippecanoe Funeral & Cremation Services is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
