Phyllis J. Benge

Phyllis J. Benge, 91 of Avon, passed away at 10:14am Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Traditions at Reagan Park in Avon. She was born May 27,1932 in Monon, Indiana to the late William Harold and Hazel E. Morris McKinney. She was a 1950 graduate of Royal Center High School. On May 29,1964 in Lafayette, Indiana, she married Richard D. “Dick” Benge and he preceded her in death on August 31,1998. Phyllis worked in the bookkeeping dept. for National Homes Acceptance Corporation.
She is survived by her daughters Diana Smith of Brownsburg and Marilyn Eppley of Lafayette, three grandsons, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her brothers Loren (Rosie) McKinney of Romney, Leon (Linda) McKinney of Lafayette, and Jerry (Darlene) McKinney of Lebanon. Phyllis was preceded in death by her brother Maurice McKinney and his wife Margene, grandson Scott Smith, step daughter Sandra Sterling and step daughter Kathy Mason.
Services will be at 3pm Saturday March 2,2024 in the Tippecanoe Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel 3631 Morehouse Rd. West Lafayette. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services.
