    Thinking of all of you and remembering her smile, even as she was so ill, as we talked about the Bug Bowl and cricket spitting.

Donna Jean Gaylord, 68 of West Lafayette, passed away at Franciscan Health Hospital in Lafayette on July 15,2021 at 4:15 am after a valiant fight with metastatic breast cancer.  She was born May 28,1953 at St. Elizabeth Hospital to the late Bernard and Joan Lowry Alexander.  She was raised in Brookston and graduated from Frontier High School. On December 1,1973 she married Terry D. Gaylord in Fowler, and he survives.  Donna retired from Purdue University after 26 years in the Ag Dept. She was a former member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fowler.

Surviving with her husband are her 4 children, Koel (Kyong) Gaylord of West Lafayette, Kyle (Nicole) Gaylord of Lafayette, Courtney (Anderson) St. Hilaire of West Lafayette, and Lindsay (Juan “Stevie”) Vazquez of Lafayette, 11 grandchildren Avry, Nolan, Iris, Hunter, Payton, Kohen, Max, Kevo, Amaya, Isla, Camille, with one on the way; 3 sisters Nancy Goodman of Lafayette, Diane (Todd) Smith of Brookston, and Cathy (Mark) Skidmore of Monticello.

Donna loved nature, walking, gardening, cooking, reading, journaling, singing along to Beatles songs, playing with her grandchildren, and being with her family. She will always be remembered for her selflessness, kindness to others, beautiful smile, and deep love for her grandchildren. Donna had a beautiful soul, and the world was a better place with her in it. She was deeply loved, and will be forever missed by her family.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at 5pm on Friday July 23,2021 in the funeral chapel at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.  The family will receive friends from 4pm until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.  TMG Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
