Charles Easterday Sr., 79, passed away at Indiana Veterans’ Home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Charles was born on May 5, 1945, the son of Kerny and Inez Easterday. He graduated from Wolcott High School before enlisting in the military. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Charles married his soulmate, Lucy, on November 27, 1982, sharing over four decades together.
Charles had an enduring love for country music and amassed a huge collection of vinyl records over the years. His daughter fondly remembers that you always knew Charles was home when you walked in and heard music playing loudly. In addition to his musical passion, Charles was an avid bowler and spent many happy hours at the bowling alley with friends. His beloved cat, “Baby,” was his faithful companion.
Charles is survived by his wife, Lucy Easterday; daughters Lois Thomas (Stanley), Marsha Wilson (Eric), and Stacey Biggs (Ed); son Charles Easterday Jr.; brother Melvin Easterday; twelve grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Tippecanoe Mausoleum Chapel of Faith.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Tippecanoe Mausoleum Chapel of Faith, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, Indiana.
