Carolyn S. Pickering, 79 of Converse passed away at 3:25 pm on Monday September 30th at Wesleyan Healthcare Center in Marion. She was born November 28,1939 in Salt Lick, KY to the late Emmitt and Lucille Razor Thompson. Her marriage was April 25th in Marion to Raymond Pickering and he preceded her in death on June 15,2018. Carolyn was a custodian at Oak Hill Schools until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Normal. Carolyn was an avid reader.
Surviving are two sons Ray (Cynthia) Pickering of Converse and Gary (Vicky) Pickering of Swayzee, grandchildren Monica (Steve) Thorpe of Peru, Aaron (Kelli) Pickering of Sweetser, Ashley (Heath) Slain of Upland, Taylor (Chelsey) Pickering of Swayzee, great-grandchildren Jake Pickering of Peru, Noah Pickering of Sweetser, Rowinn and Cora Slain of Upland and Everly Pickering of Swayzee, a brother Kenny (Wanda) Thompson of Deland, FL, and a sister Mary Jackson of Longwood,FL.
Friends may call from 10am until 12:30pm on Thursday October 3rd in the Chapel at Gardens of Memory, Marion, IN with Ed Bridegroom officiating. Burial will follow in the Cemetery.
