June Barker Petrie passed away June 30 in Taylorsville, NC.
June was an avid traveler, lover of all God’s creatures both feathered and furry, teacher, musician, mentor, longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Taylorsville, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolland Edmond Dutenhaver and Mildred Nelson Rund, and her husband, Edwin Tad “Pete” Petrie. She is survived by her sister Patricia Peters, families of her niece, Kristin and nephew, Nicholas, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Anna Petrie, and her dear family friend Jake Lowman.
A graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Lafayette, IN on July 8 at 12 p.m., and a celebration of life will be held at First United Methodist Church in Taylorsville, NC, at on July 21 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Hospice.
