Sherman “Teddy” Whitt, 63, of Marion passed away at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at St. Vincent’s Heart Center of Indiana. He was born July 13, 1955, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to the late Sherman and Dovey Laney Whitt Sr. On Sept. 16, 1983, in Wabash, he married Barbara Davidson; she survives.
Sherman worked for a tree service prior to his retirement. He enjoyed trading cars and houses, music, singing and spending time with his family. He really enjoyed helping people.
Surviving with his wife are his children Jessica Whitt, Amanda Whitt, David Whitt, Kristy Whitt, all of Marion, and Krystal (Chris) Pitman of Gas City; 10 grandchildren; brothers Kenneth Laney of Arkansas, Ray Laney of Georgia, Elsie Hogston of Rising Sun, Faye Shisler of Offutt, Kentucky, Rosetta Laney of Ashland, Kentucky, and Dimple Laney of Georgia. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 29 at the chapel at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion. Interment will follow.
