Ruth Doris Ewing 89, wife, mother, grandmother, and Covid-19 survivor, Mulberry, IN, slipped into the arms of her Lord and Savior on April 2, 2021 at the Mulberry Healthcare Center, Mulberry, IN. She was born in Milford, IL, on September 27, 1931, to Henry V. Schriefer and Nettie Rondaan Schriefer. Ruth married Gordon Martin, of Lafayette, IN on May 5, 1950. They engaged in farming until his death on April 20, 1999. Ruth married Thomas D. Ewing (widower, formerly married to Yvonne M. Sondag of Carrington, ND) on June 14, 2003 and the couple resided in Mulberry, IN. She is survived by her 7 children: Ronda King (Bill),Cadiz, KY,  Mary Vlahos, Lafayette, Rick Martin (Sue), Linden, Cindy Meyer (Phil), New Concord, KY, Brian Martin, Linden, Todd M. Ewing (Naida),Carrollton, TX, Tari M. Kim, West Palm Beach, Fl; and, her husband, Thomas D. Ewing, Mulberry. Her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; who  are too numerous to enumerate.

Ruth, in addition to farming, was well known for her sewing, vegtable gardening, flowers, and, baking wedding cakes. She loved bowling and the social aspect of that until her health prevented her participation. Her favorite activity in her retirement was mowing her lawn with her Cub Cadet ZRT (when she grew too weak and needed assistance to get on mower, she insisted on operating it anyway). Finally, during the last few years of her life, she created quilts for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth will be remembered, not only for her activities, but for her love of people: especially her family. She  simply beamed with adoration when surrounded by the little ones.

A memorial service will be conducted on the grounds of Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, followed by internment in the Garden of Hope, TMG, West Lafayette, IN, at a date yet to be determined.
