Richard Dean Schick, 71 of Lafayette passed away at 1:17 am Saturday December 8th at his residence. He was born in Lafayette on September 9,1947 to Wilbur Joseph and Mary Louise Taylor Schick. He was a 1965 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He married Rebecca Madden on February 17,1968 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Lafayette. Richard was employed by Purdue University having worked in maintenance, shipping and receiving and other areas. Richard enjoyed bowling and was a member of the United States Bowling Congress, he loved fishing, taking drives with his beloved wife, family parties especially spending time with his grand and great grandchildren as well as attending their activities and sports. Richard loved the Chicago Bears, LA Dodgers, all Boilermaker sports, and girls softball. Richard also loved his cats.
Richard is survived by two sons, Lee S (Christina) Schick, and Tracey D (Joanie) Schick both of Lafayette. Six grandchildren Elizabeth Schick, Corbin Schick, Jacob Schick, Trinity Maxfield-Davis, Macie Maxfield-Davis, and Leo Schick all of Lafayette and a brother Eugene Schick of Lafayette. One brother preceded in death.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Saturday December 15th in the Chapel of Faith at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens where friends may call after 10 am. Burial will follow in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
