Ralph E. “Ed” Fultz, 71 of Lafayette passed away at noon on Saturday May 2, 2020 at his residence following a lingering illness. He was born August 22, 1948 in Lafayette to the late Ralph N. and Loretta B. Leming Fultz. He was a graduate of Wainwright High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy, having served two tours in the Vietnam War. His marriage was January 20, 1973 at the Dayton United Methodist Church to Myra S. Hedge, who survives. Ed worked for Caterpillar in Lafayette for 30 years until his retirement in 2013. Ed was a devoted father and grandfather, taking time to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s sports and music events, as he valued time with his family above all else.
Surviving with his beloved wife Myra are son Scott (Jen) Fultz of Lafayette, daughter Lori (Chris) Peterson of Brookston, and grandchildren Dustin Peterson, Marie Fultz, Amelia Fultz and Brennan Kimball. He is also survived by two brothers Larry (Paula) Fultz of Lafayette and John (Brenda) Fultz of Mulberry.
In keeping with the limitations of the ongoing pandemic, a celebration of Ed’s life will be held at a later date when social and military rites may be held.
