David Michael Bechner, 46, of Lafayette passed away unexpectedly from natural causes at his residence on September 5,2022. He was born September 9,1975 in Lafayette to Tom and Ruth Hayelga Welcher and biological father Stanley David Bechner of Denton, TX who survive. His marriage was April 4,2009 in West Lafayette to Tonya Piper, who survives.
David was a fork truck driver for Lone Star Transportation and had previously drove at Wabash National.
If you knew David, you knew what a character he was! He had a passion for the outdoors and cooking. He was really good at it too! David loved to go camping and fishing and spent his free time building lego sets. He loved his dogs Willow and Penny. He loved taking them for walks and spending time at the dog park with them. He wanted to spend his days laughing and having fun. To his family and friends, he was a big ole fun loving teddy bear. To Tonya, he was the world around her. He is already missed so much by all of his family and will forever be part of their hearts.
Surviving with his beloved wife and parents are a stepdaughter Mickayla (Joseph) McAnelly of Lafayette, sisters Bethany Rowland of Lafayette and Angela Horn of Owensboro, KY several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday September 14,2022 at the funeral chapel at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Funeral services will be at 6pm.
