Daryl J. Platt

Daryl J. Platt, 73 of Lafayette passed away at 10:48 am Thursday May 18,2023 at IU Arnett Hospital in
Lafayette. He was born July 24,1949 in Rensselaer, IN to the late Wilbur and Betty Yeoman Platt. Daryl
graduated high school and joined the US Air Force. He served in Viet Nam as a radio operator.
Following his service, he worked as a service manager for various automobile dealerships and retired
from Hubbard GMC in Monticello.
Surviving are two sons Christopher (Melissa) Platt of Lafayette and Douglas Platt of New Orleans, LA, as
well as two step children Missy Gray-Watson (Eric) of West Lafayette and Adam Gray (Joanne) of
Johnstown, CO and six grandchildren Audrey Platt of Lafayette, Henry Platt of Lafayette, Brandon Gray
of CO, Geana Gray of CO, Erin Gray of VA and Cooper Gray of CO. Also surviving is a brother Dennis
(Diane) Platt of Frankfort, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy Platt and a brother Larry
Platt.
Daryl enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his late wife, Sandy, traveling, sightseeing and
spending time with his grandkids. Daryl loved cars and any excuse to drive cross country. Later in life, he
enjoyed racing any one of his various Mustangs while living in Arizona.
A military rites will be held at the funeral chapel at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens on Thursday June
1,2023 at 7pm. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 5 to the time of rites at 7pm. Military rites by
members of the US Air Force and American Legion will be held at the funeral chapel.
