Alice M. Chilgreen, 77 of Marion died at 5pm February 5,2019 at her residence. She was born March 19,1941 in Chicago, IL to the late Reinhold L. and Mary E. Fritz. Alice was a graduate of Reavis Community High School in Cook County, IL in 1959. She received her BA from IWU, Marion, IN in 1963 and her Masters from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS in 1969. On June 6,1964 she married Donald R. Chilgreen and he survives.
Alice taught 4th grade in Junction City, KS for one year and middle school math and science at Marion Community Schools for many years. She was a member of College Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening and knitting.
Surviving with her husband are a son Richard B. (Lisa) Chilgreen of Maine, daughters Teresa L. Chilgreen of Gaston, IN and Janel L. (Larry) Drake of Jonesboro, IN, granddaughters Maya Chilgreen, Libby and Jazmin Drake and one sister Mary Lou Stallings of AL. She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Friends may call from 11am to 1pm on Monday February 18th at Gardens of Memory, Marion with services at 1pm in the chapel with Pastor Ben Gray officiating, entombment will follow.
