How Gardens of Memory Address
the Top 4 Cremation Concerns

Concern #1 – Paying a Fair Price

Many people are surprised to learn that some area cemeteries are no longer family owned. Instead they are owned by large, publicly traded corporations based in other states. A portion of the corporate headquarters expense is added to each and every price they charge.

Gardens of Memory Cemetery is a family owned business committed to always offering a fair price to every family we serve.

Concern #2 – Having the Opportunity to Say Goodbye One Last Time

Saying goodbye to your loved one is never easy. Unfortunately, in today’s culture, many people try to skip this step. The sad reality is that failing to say goodbye to someone you love can leave emotional wounds that are difficult to heal.

At Graceland, whenever possible every family is given the opportunity for a private farewell and identification of your loved one. If a public visitation is planned, the private farewell is typically scheduled to precede the public visitation. On a practical level, personal identification is an important step in our security procedures. On an emotional level, this private time helps family members as they mourn the loss.

Concern #3 – Finding a Place for a Ceremony

Gardens of Memory offers funeral services and merchandise. We currently hold funeral services in one of our chapels or at local churches. A majority of cremations in Marion and surrounding areas include some form of funeral ceremony or memorial service. Whether religious or non-religious, a service of some form always plays an important role in the healing process for the family and friends. Unfortunately, for some families, finding a place for a ceremony can be difficult especially if they are not members of a local church.

At Graceland, every family we serve has the option to use one of our beautiful mausoleum chapels for their farewell ceremony.

Concern #4 – Deciding What to Do with the Cremated Remains

All too often a family member receives the cremated remains and is left wondering…now what? Do you scatter the ashes someplace? Do you place them in an urn? What do you do with the urn? Sadly, failing to plan for a final resting place for the remains only creates a problem for future generations. Eventually, they are faced with having to decide what to do with a collection of urns containing the remains of long-lost relatives. We offer a multitude of options, including cremation lots, niches in our mausoleums, cremation benches, private estate niche areas and scattering gardens all at surprisingly affordable prices.

For those families that memorialize their loved one at home, we have the area’s largest selection of take-home memorial products. For example, we have a variety of options made with the actual ashes of their loved one including glass art objects and cremation jewelry that families cherish.
